There are a whole lot of things to do in Singapore, but the one that really must be talked about is shopping. Singapore is the mecca for electronics, clothes, food, you name it! Here are 5 places that you simply must not miss while shopping in Singapore.

1. Orchard Road

If there is one place which truly embodies the spirit of Singapore in Orchard Road. This is a prominent shopping area in the country. Orchard Road is an avenue lined at the mall, interconnected by underground tunnels, that amuse shoppers and endless experiences. From clothes to electronics or accessories, you can buy anything you want at Orchard Road. At a festive time—say, around Christmas—the entire street is lit up beautifully, with carol singers lining the streets, gleeful shoppers all around, delicious street food and an air of glorious merriment.

What to Buy - Shop at the ION Orchard for clothes, shoes, bags and other fashion accessories from the best global brands. You’re sure to be spoilt for choice!

If you’re looking for a good bargain, this is the place to be. At Singapore’s fascinating Chinatown, you will walk through rows and rows of shops selling products at throwaway prices. This is possibly the best place to buy spices, souvenirs, and inexpensive clothes. Of course, as an Indian shopper, what I enjoyed most was bargaining unabashedly for the best possible deals, and came out satisfied, both hands laden with bags and bags of goodies!

What to Buy –  Satin Chinese-style robes and little figurines. Also, this is a great place to buy souvenirs.

3. Marina Bay

Marina Bay

One of the latest iconic additions to Singapore's glorious skyline, the Marina Bay area is visually stunning, with three hotel buildings connected by one long rooftop infinity pool. Adjacent to the hotels is Marina Bay Sands, one of Singapore’s largest luxury malls, complete with a water canal running through it! Shop for the best high-end fashion brands here, dine at some of the finest restaurants, and even take a boat ride in the canal! If you’re not much of a shopper, spend time at the in-house casino or simply step outside on the promenade for some spectacular views of the bay, and the iconic Merlion

What to Buy – Get the best in luxury and high-end fashion at the Marina Bay Sands.

If you’re Indian, and you’ve met people travelling to Singapore, you must have already heard of Mustafa. Found in the Indian area of Singapore, fondly known as Little India, this mall is a must-stop destination for electronics at unbelievable prices.
